If  you are an archer who is content to shoot outdoors no matter what the weather may throw at you then this is the Society for you!

The Society was founded  in late 2009 by some hardy members of the Fleet Ibex Field Archery club, website http://www.fleetibexfieldarchery.co.uk

The Chairman is Keith Stay, keith@keithstay.freeserve.co.uk

 

If you think that you are might be eligible to join the society  then consider the typical attributes of an AWAS member below:

 

Will shoot outdoors in wind rain snow frost and with icy and muddy conditions underfoot.

Can stay upright when traversing slippery surfaces, not normally susceptible to uncontrolled gravity events.

Not deterred from shooting by a change in the weather from that forecast, such that no wet weather or warm clothing is available or has been worn.

Normally arrives to shoot with an adequate variety of clothing to suit the weather.

Is not perturbed by the feeling of wet soggy underclothes, outer garments, socks and footwear.

Is prepared to shoot wet arrows and enjoys the sight and feeling of the spray flying as the arrow is shot from the bow.

Is prepared to educate, coach and otherwise train and support members of FWAS http://www.fwas.co.uk so that they may come to enjoy the skills and experiences of being an AWAS member.

 

If you have one or more of these attributes then this is the society for you.

 

Membership is free and may be given to you as a gift by another person. However, evidence of suitability is required. This may be in the form of photographs, verified reports, including time, place and witnesses.
